A Quick Inspiration Card for the Unstampabelles Challenge #42 - Summer Fun!

The theme for the December Challenge at
Unstampabelles is

SUMMER FUN

Here is a bit of it - did you know that we DO have snow in summer in Tasmania?
This tree (melaleuca) is commonly known as
Snow in Summer!

This one is in my garden - that's a tree fern next to it on the left! It is a mass of flowers and the bees are really busy there from morning to night.

It's a bit of Summer Fun!

the TWIST is to make a Christmas card to fit the Southern Hemisphere

This challenge is being Sponsored by Bizzy Bec
Bec has an on-line store in Australia and she is offering us
this die as a prize for the winner.

I used a wine bottle label - yes, I know wine AGAIN! I really don't drink enormous amounts but the labels are often so pretty and it is a pity to just tip the contents down the sink.....

This variety was called Boatshed Bay and was printed onto a clear label which I removed and placed onto a sheet of white paper. I mounted this onto some gold card and then covered up the wine variety with a Christmas sticker mounted on card

This is my completed card - a touch of holly in the top corner for Christmas! I though boating, and drinking (not together, of course, ahem) were indicative of the summer fun we have had in the past, and usually over the Christmas holidays, with family and friends. And of course there is the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race starting on the 26th December and the Taste of Tasmania and Wooden Boat Show all going on here at the same time in the next few weeks......

On top of that Hubby turns 80, so there is a BIG party happening here on the 30th!

So, Fun in Summer at Christmas Time!

Please go to Unstampabelles to see what other things have been created for your inspirations and then after the 25th, sneak into the craft room and joyfully create! You have until the 29th December to play along (extended time).

Great card.
We had a huge melaleuca removed from our boundary fence just yesterday - hubby is still cleaning up. The neighbour has wanted it gone for a while. Such a great tree. The kids spent the last 2 days before it was gone climbing it. Maybe I'll post a pic.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a Merry Christmas.

What a wonderful card Susan.....so love how you use wine bottle labels and you do find the most interesting. That red border is so pretty too. What a stunning tree.
