The Squirrel and the Fox says Happy Birthday!

Sponsored by The Paper Shelter

Prize - $20 Gift Certificate

It is only appropriate that our theme is Happy Birthday!
The Squirrel and The Fox is celebrating it's 3rd Birthday!

However, it is with sadness that we also announce that this will be the last challenge from us. Linda has decided to "close up shop for The Squirrel and The Fox." While this is sad for us, it is the right thing for Linda at this stage of her life and I would like to personally thank her for accepting me onto the Design Team and for her on-going support while on the team. Please go to the Squirrel and the Fox for further information.

So, on to my last card for the Design Team

My last card for them was made in two stages. It is a decoupage image provided by the sponsor, and after printing it off, I had to cut it out. As it was pre-op I did this OK with the scissors, and then took to the fiddly bits with my Fiskars scalpel, which is worn on the finger for greater control.  Works well until you are just finishing off and lift the right hand, spasm and drive the point of the scalpel under the nail of the middle finger on the left hand - the day before same hand is being operated on!

Blood everywhere

Yes, some on the image but I managed to wipe that off  and put something over the spot!

I needed that glass of wine but it was 11.00 am!

After I calmed down and ascertained I still had seven fingers (long story) I left the cut out pieces to be assembled later..........and no, I didn't fess up to the staff at the hospital  - it wasn't that noticable the next day so I got away with it.......

.......and, two weeks later I one-handedly put this together and stamped the sentiment. It should have been embossed in black to stand out more but wasn't quite up to that. Yes, it is all a bit crooked.

the decoupage layers - three in places

I added a ribbon and a charm - papers from the increasing pile of paper stash! All card is from Stampin' Up, card blank is from Regal Craft.

So, that is the journey - inside says all about having a Happy Birthday!
Why not go and enter this fabulous challenge as a loving farewell to a great couple of girls who put together a fabulous challenge blog and ran it successfully for three good years!

The other DT members have made great use of the sponsors images as well

Paper stash um - considering cards only take a small amount - I have enough but there are so many pretty ones :)
