Reminder of Challenge #31 at Unstampabelles

Five days to go - are you excited?  I am!!

Kaiser die cut
You can see the great work produced by the team for this challenge at Unstampabelles and hopefully you will be inspired to enter the challenge before it closes on the 31st January!

I have made a last Hurrah card: there are several new bumps in our family and so I expect to be using some cards this year to celebrate the birth of new people.  This one is made from a set by Kaiser - Bundle of Joy. My SIL gave me a gift card for my birthday that wasn't spent until just before Christmas.  I had fun! This was one of the purchases.

Background papers - Kaiser Bundle of Joy

Die cut from pack

Sticker plus button and string from stash.  I used a white gel pen to draw the stitching by hand.

Pretty papers and die cuts and edges, and certainly a new beginning for anyone to have a new little being arrive and take over - as they do!

Challenge #62 for the Squirrel and the Fox

The challenge #62 for the Squirrel and the Fox this week (fortnight) is to use Embellishments! Well, who doesn't use those!! I LOVE my embellies!

Firstly there is bling! I have sooooo much bling! This little label has been stamped with SU ink using an Stampin' Up  stamp, and then overstamped with TH Distress ink, and a Darkroom Door stamp, then die cut - bling added!

This is a Darkroom Door stamp too (same set) and the ink is again TH Distress - Firebrick I think it is called. The little clip is from Stampin' Up.  It has been stamped onto SU Whisper White and fussy cut - sort of...

This little gal (I think her name is Carolyn) is a digi image from Vanessa, a member of our DT and also is the sponsor for this challenge. You can check this out and some more of her images at her shop here.
Photobucket

I printed her off on the X-Press card and coloured her with ...... Copics! I stuffed up her hair a bit. I wrote the word "Selfie" (one of the newest words in the dictionary!) next to her and added some bling!!

This is my ribbon treatment!! I wanted it to be a bit ruffled and edgy. It is SU ribbon.

Under the image I added another one of Vanessa's digi images - a Library card! This has been overstamped with a MFT stamp from the set "Own Your Own Story", stamped with Momento London Fog and sponged with TH Antique Linen inkI handwrote the details on the card and added some......yes, bling!

The card is a commercial square blank in pearl. I added some DP from Basic Grey - Lauderdale and I die cut the image using a Nestabilities Label. I coloured in the faint idea of sky and ground by sponging on some Momento inks in New Sprout and Summer Sky before removing it from the die. I mounted it onto some SU Real Red card embossed with a hatching pattern and backed this with some SU Close to Midnight blue.  Oh, and I added a bit more bling!

Different light for the photo

We have grand-daughters who are always taking selfies and putting them into the digital sphere somehow - twitter or facebook or whatever......I avoid the camera like the plague!

So, that's my take on the challenge - what are you going to do?  There are lots of lovely DT inspirational cards to look at and you can follow them back to their blog an get some more inspiration from that! Oh, and leave them some blog love! Until next time,

I will enter this in the following:
Delicious Doodles - use a ribbon: yep,did that

Graphic 45 - the rest!

I told you I had made more than one card with the Graphic 45 stuff here when I showed you my card for midway Unstampabelles and here when I showed the card I made from Crafting with Dragonflies. So, two cards already showcased - here are the rest.

WARNING: lots of photo's to look at some a cuppa or something to drink might be appropriate!

So many - 6 cards and 5 tags (one big one and four smaller ones).  I went for a shabby chic look

A closer look

Top of tag 1 - wooden die cut; painted, sprayed and sparkly but not in this photo unfortunately

Different violets

The whole tag - it can be written on the back; can be used as either a card or a tag really

Small tag 1 - die cuts, mall images, butterfly and sticker

Small tag 2 - die cut; image

Small tags 3 and 4 - images and butterflies

If you arrived here,  well done! It was a good exercise to stick to the whole sheet and make it without deviating off to make other things in-between like I always do - that way I end up with small packets of bits and rarely get back to them, but I made myself finish this so feeling good.

Challenge#18 - Crafting with Dragonflies

Hi Peeps

Firstly, yes I have changed my blog picture.  This is Marion Bay, on the East Coast of Tasmania. The Tasman Peninsular in the background and Bream Creek farming community in the foreground. This is quite like the view I grew up with - from my bedroom window each day - as our farm was not far from where this picture was taken. Love it!

On with the Dragonflies Challenge#18

We know everyone loves these challenges as it makes life easy BUT you still have to make a CARD for this new Challenge #18 at Crafting with Dragonflies - Anything Goes!

There are no sponsors images for us as a team to follow - we could do what we felt like - and I felt like making more cards using the images I mentioned from this post for Unstampabelles. The Graphic 45 blog site had some lovely inspiration on it so I borrowed a few ideas and using my own papers and embellishments, set to work.

So pretty

I used a die cut from Memory Box I think to cut the stamp shape - I have misplaced the storage bag for this now and don't know where I got it from - the bird is a wooden one from Kaiser. It has been stained with Antique Linen TH  Distress ink, as have most of the edges of the papers.

Blue ribbon from the stash and a small key charm - the key to the Secret Garden door!

Layers and layers of papers - such a good idea from the Graphic 45 blog! As was the idea of rolling the corners - I really like that.

Bird by Kaiser and some bling and more layers

Yummy!

Midway Post for Unstampabelles Challenge #31 New Beginnings

Well, we are half-way through the time allowed for this Challenge #31 New Beginnings, and my worst nightmare of no entries has been proved to be no more than a daydream. We have some lovely entries but there is still time for you all to get your crafting hats on and make a CARD for this challenge - New Beginnings - at Unstampabelles.  Remember the lovely prize for this?

We are sponsored this month by the wonderful

I did so love the book The Secret Garden and these images and quotes from the book are very how I imagined the whole thing whilst reading it.  I found them on a 12 x 12 page from Graphic 45 in my stash, called appropriately  Secret Garden - Springtime. It had such lovely images and so I took to it with a pair of scissors. The piece yielded 11 images and two sentiments! I made 6 cards and 5 tags from it as a result. This image is my favourite.

What has this to do with New Beginnings? This card is for a friend who is retiring and she loves both her garden and reading, so.......plus the new miracles from the garden are all new beginnings of beautiful flowers!!

Once I had the images I had to find some papers to match, and so scrabbled around in my stash for these. Mostly I used a 12 x 12 set (name unknown to me) from SU but there are some various papers which were just sitting loose in the paper box (names unknown). I also had a packet of flowers and butterflies that I think were Kaiser - I used some of the remaining butterflies I had. Card used was all SU - with the base of each card and tag being Kraft  except for the diecut butterfly and music which are from a scrap of pearlised card from Kitty Lane.

All the flowers were from my stash and were mostly Prima. This spray above I am not so sure of - it might be Manor House. I added some Kiddie Glitz.

This birdie is diecut using a Memory Box die and scrap paper glued to card. The eye is bling (black)

The ribbon and trim are also from the stash and are from Webster's Pages. I have had them for quite a while too! The die cut fence is from using a Cheery Lyn die.

I will enter this in the following challenges:

Artistic Inspirations:  Anything Goes/use ribbon - yep, done that
Card Mania: Anything Goes
Make it Monday: Anything Goes
Simon Says:  A is for......A New Beginning (this card is a retirement card!)
