#61 Show off your New Stuff at the Squirrel and the Fox

Challenge #61 at the Squirrel and the Fox is to show off the new stuff in your stash! I got my new item in late November when I was still struggling with the Christmas cards so I put it to one side and didn't see it again until this year.  I dug it out and tried it out - Delicious!

My new thing is a beautiful embossing folder from Stampin' Up called Delicate Designs, and it is designed as lace strips.  There are two folders in the set; the one I used has a scalloped edge so I fussy cut this after I had embossed a strip of SU Coastal Cabana.  It gives such a lovely deep crisp emboss. I added a strip of ribbon from my stash - maker unknown - and layered it onto some SU Raspberry Ripple and a strip of silver mirror card.

This Challenge is being sponsored by  Hobby Digital Stamps, who will provide 5 free digi's to the winner.

I used some flowers from my stash as well, and they had silver centers so I colored them with Copics to match my color scheme. the ticket is from Tim Holtz.

The image is from Hobbybook and I colored her with Copics too - and added a bit of pencil for more depth. Those legs go way up don't they!

I diecut a heart using my Nellie Snellen die set from SU Raspberry Ripple and some backing paper from a magazine freebie. The color matched nicely! Initially I was going to die cut the image out but my mojo was absent so I just fussycut her and added some dimensionals. The DP is layered onto some SU card and then onto a large white square commercial card.

The U is a wooden piece colored up with Copics to match her skirt.

I suppose it could be a Valentines card but we don't usually celebrate Valentines - I thought I could use her for my Grand-daughter who is travelling to Queensland next week as part of the National Junior Brass Band. This is her second time with them in two years - and she has moved from being last cornet to number three up the line!  She has been practicing and hopefully the beautiful gold cornet she has now will sound fabulous in the band when they play in public. We are very proud of her. Break a leg Kiddo!

I will enter this in the following:
A Creative Romance:  Something New (New embossing folder; grand-daughters new venture in NZ which cannot be mentioned yet!)
Crafty Catz - Pretty in Pink: her skirt and head band, the ribbon and the U are all pink!
Digitally Sweet Challenges: the image is a digi from Hobbybook. This is an Anything Goes
Polkadoodle: Anything Goes but be girly/girly!
