The second challenge for 2014 at UNSTAMPABELLES is themed
DARE TO GET DIRTY!
Before I go there, welcome to my new followers and thank you to all followers who have stayed the course. I know you are there - I have been watching the numbers slowly climb and it gives me a thrill every time to see that there has been a change!
Now, this has been a busy week for me but a good one - 30 years ago my hubby and I got married, and so we celebrated our Pearl (Diamond) Wedding Anniversary on Tuesday. We went out to lunch at a beautiful local restaurant despite the heat being 37 degrees with a nasty hot wind blowing from the north! It was a lovely day and the weather did not affect anything!
This is the card I made for my husband for our Anniversary - unfortunately he didn't get it until Saturday, as I was still making it! But the thought was there and he really likes it! I will show you how I made it now and why my fingers and hands were dirty, but first the sponsor!
have donated a prize worth approx $40 - amazing and generous!
Why not visit them and see if you can snag a bargain!
The TWIST this month is for you to document (hopefully with photo's) your journey!
What does this mean? Well, you can make a background using ink or paint or both; you can make an embellishment ink or painty or both! You can use dies and embossing folders with paint and/or ink - either before, during and after; you can use texture paste and glitter and glue and crayons and inkpads........just remember to take lots of pictures and tell us about your journey!
Now, I have lots of photo's, so grab a coffee/tea/water/drink and sit back:
SU shiny white paper, masked off with post-it notes
Lots of TH Distress inks - sponges - Shabby Shutters, Peeled Pint, Forest Moss, Mowed Lawn - worked towards the center, darkest first applied
Balzer Designs TCW stencil and more TH Distress ink - Tattered Rose, Ripe Persimmon, Pickled Raspberry, Tattered Rose and just built up the layers of colour - again using sponges.
Looks like this now
MFT stencil and TH Black Soot ink - why arrows? Hubby is always telling me you get less years for murder, so thought I would use some prison arrows!
Then I used another MFT stencil with Hearts, and Imagination Crafts sparkle Medium - Gold Shine paste - let that dry
Before I washed the stencils I laid them onto another sheet of paper and overlaid two to use up the ink and perhaps create a different background to use later.......
Once dry and polished I put it into the pizza box and arranged sheets to cover the rest of the work space, and sprayed it with Tattered Roses shiny spray to add a bit more red.
The top RHS hearts got a red sparkle to them!
Some TYPO balsa wood letters, and some distress ink and some paste.....
....and some dirty fingers!
Made this card: the 30 is made from stickers and the heart is also balsa (precoloured) and I added a small pearl to it for the Pearl Wedding Anniversary - photo taken in sunshine....
...in shade.....
.....in partial shade!
I will enter this in the following:
