Hilde set us this challenge and told us there was NO SPONSOR this round but that the theme was PEGS!
However, no sponsor Does not mean there is no prize - the prize will be a
SURPRISE!
Firstly, I had to get me some pegs!
I love dolly pegs - don't you? I remember as a little girl playing with them, and I have a dim memory of an old woman coming to the farm house with them for sale.
Then I had to coerce (gently) the Hubby to make me the stands for them - the feet are slightly squeezed together and slotted in to make the peg stand up. Isn't he a clever boy! He made me three but was willing to make more!
Then I painted them white with Gesso.
I drew on the faces with permanent marker and other pens. I created a halo (think you can see where this is going now) out of gold wire braid. I
I cut out wings from some yellow sparkly paper (camera hasn't picked it up but I assure you they do sparkle). I played around with some paper doilies and added a small red pearl star to "dress" the angels. In only one of them did I think to check which direction the legs were going (duh!) so only one has proper 'legs'! The other two are turned sideways!
If you peep under their skirts you can see which one is correct.
....and it's not this one! But she has the better set of clothing!
Sideways look
At the back - there is modesty preserved.
Just so you can see that the angel can be taken in and out of the stands.
One angels wing is slightly blunted I notice now, and one has flared nostrils!
However, you get the idea!
PEGS!
I will enter this in a challenge at:Deep Ocean Challenge: wings - closes 9th June
Craft My Life: anything goes but not a card - end May?
