Joy to the World - Part 2: Unstampabelles

  Hello Peeps!

Another piece for Unstampabelles Challenge#107: JOY

the TWIST this month is MUSIC!

Who has their tree up already this year?

Hard to sing through the mask though......

I made a tag - extra long so it can be a bookmark too

I  recycled the JOY circle from a card to the tag

I die cut some music symbols and the drummer boy
Smooched around the edges of the tag with the red ink
Added some bling

My music clefs are in two different silvers

Here's my tree with it's mighty guardian!

He was very excited - as long as he doesn't climb it I will be OK
One bird ornament got a little chewed but its back on the tree again now!

(Please) Joy to the World....Unstampabelles have a new challenge for December

 Hello Peepers!

Hope this finds you all cheery and well. We are still COVID free in little old Tassie and we hope it remains that way for a good while. BUT, we will be ready for it!

The summer has started but no-one told the weather gods so the wind and rain and snow are still beating us up - hopefully summer will get back to us about mid-week!

I am knee deep again in Christmas cards and the first thing I did was recycle a few from last year that were just too pretty to throw away. Especially those hand made ones I was lucky enough to receive. Along the way I made a few tags as well, and this is what I will use for Unstampbelles latest challenge.

Challenge #107: JOY

with a TWIST of music!

I raided all my dies to find one that said Joy
I was sure there was one....could not find it....ordered the latest one from SU, then....
FOUND THE OLD ONE!

Oh well!

I cut out the word in gold card and trimmed the image I wanted to use
This photo was to prove it was a recycled card image

I had a strip of Whisper White already folded over that was just
the right size too so another bit off the desk
Punched a hole in top left to thread some gold cord through and added some bits of bling - done!

It is quite a pretty image too

The sun does shine sometimes.....

Well, there you have it - a recycled Christmas card from last year
turned into a gift card for this year

Simple.
What are you going to make?
Remember, there is a cash prize and you have a month to enter!

Unstampabelle's Challenge #106 is Believe!

I have started the Christmas card rush! There are only oh, about 99 to go.....

I made this card for the Unstampabelle's Challenge#106.

The theme is BELIEVE

There is a TWIST......to use a fancy fold

AND I remembered it!

I started with some die cuts - the trees and reindeer;
Then I started to wonder what my background would be - and went to this DP from Stampin' Up
It has a very Aurora lights vibe

Once I had positioned the die cuts I added the Kaiser rub-on
I mounted the all this onto some black card

I then folded my fancy fold in Whisper White thick card (SU) - not sure what it is called but I did it by eye so it is pretty easy
A Valley fold, perhaps?

I added some more of the DP onto the back panel and then added a star sticker
(glued on only half way down)
The star became the stopper for the front piece, which hooked under it nicely

It stands like this

The star is glued to card to make it sturdy and then I fancy cut this out and
glued only the top bit to the back panel

A nice bright card for Christmas!

You have five days to enter!

She Believed....Challenge#106 at Unstampabelles

 Hi Peeps....

Hope all is well with you and yours. Keep safe - wear a mask, socially distance and stay away from crowds......

Over at Unstampabelles the challenge is to make a piece using the theme 'Believe'

and with the TWIST of an unusual fold.

I chose the Gatefold fold - there are lots of tutorials for this

Here is the fold - I used the American measurement in inches. so it is a bit smaller than usual

I forgot  to photograph for a bit... and then my camera ran out of battery, so it is a bit hit and miss, but I added some DP to the outside folds and centre

Then I cut a piece of DP and added my Dylusions image to it, before cutting the image into three. Then I mounted it again onto some more card, and sliced between the three pieces to create a separate mount for each.

HINT: add top and bottom before adding the middle
Top and bottom go on the left side

Middle piece goes on the right side

When the card is flat the image is reassembled

then I added some bling, rubons (Kaiser) and a chip of sentiment

I had to peg it shut to cut the strip clean

I doodled on the white strip to make it match my girls lapels

When it is just sitting it opens a bit and shows the fold off
but when it is opened up, you can see it clearly

Hope you like it
Cheers, and see you on the Unstampabelles site!

Unstampabelles new November Challenge #106: Believe

  Hi Peeps

The times are hard but the craft space is always beckoning.....the theme for this month at Unstampabelles is BELIEVE with the TWIST of a different fold.

I didn't have a different fold......made a card and completely forgot the twist......so here it is

My first Christmas card for 2020

First photo is taken in the shade and the bottom one in late afternoon sunshine

I used an embossing folder, a die and some sparkly green card
It is mounted on a dark gold card

Simple

Keep well and safe!

Inspire and Thanks for Unstampabelles Final Week Challenge#105

Hello Peeps......not the best of times but lets not think about that this week and concentrate on remembering who inspired you to start crafting. My Mother was a great knitter and she crocheted and sewed. I did embroidery for a while and knitted but I got drawn to Scrapbooking and as most of you know, I ended up in the rabbit hole of Papercrafting.

I have lots of people who inspired me in those early days but many of them have left the blog world and returned to life. Some are still around but I cannot remember everybody's names now and I don't want to miss anyone out.

My team inspire me too - the Belles at Unstampabelles. They rise to the occasion so often and come up with amazing stuff. So, for the Unstampabelle's team.....a tag......

Come Fly with me........

I started with a tag that came with stamps from KaiserCraft
and painted it white with heavy white gesso

I have some wooden letters so spelled out INSPIRE. I was going to paint them too
but decided to leave them their natural colour.

When the gesso was dry (overnight) I used watercolour paint to scribble some bars of colour down the tag in pastel shades and then glued on the letters

These rub-on booklets came from Joann's in USA (Denver) and that was over 14 years ago - I know because my grandson was 5 months old when I saw him there and he turns 15 next month!
Nothing feels so good as using up old stash!

You can see stickers too - same deal.
The thanks is a sticker

Then I added stuff to the front and turned it over to discover I had not painted the back!

I cut some card and fitted it to the back
-useful to write a note there.....

I used TH stickers to make a story for my birdcage and bird
and added some bling!

There you have it!
You have a week to enter and remember.... NO STAMPS!

Tags for Bizzy Bec's new Challenge

Hi Everyone.

Over at Bizzy Bec's is the start of the new October challenge

Everything Goes

There are some digi stamps on offer as a prize - from Bec herself!
They are gorgeous!

I repurposed two clothing tags for this challenge
Firstly I painted them white with heavy Gesso on both sides

I then scraped of some paint to take this shot so you can see the raw label underneath
because I am not very organised these days!
I repainted it.

I am also not very patient so I used the heat gun to dry them off and the paint
bubbled a bit but I like this so didn't panic!

Then I used a lot of black ink and some stamps from Dark Room Door
to grunge them up a bit - details on these below
Bec sells DRD stamps and stuff!

Where the bubbles were the ink stuck to the raise bits well and mde for more texture.
The ribbon came with the tags - I just replace it.

Great tags for the male presents
Some paper word chips too from my stash

White Gesso
Word chips from my stash

Repurposed clothing labels

Unstampabelles' October Challenge#105: Inspire

 Hello Peeps!

The newest challenge at Unstampabelles is

Inspire!

The TWIST this month is to make a THANK YOU CARD/TAG

We all have people who have inspired us and it is time to acknowledge who they are
by making a thank you card or tag for them and mentioning who they are and why this is for them

It may be a generic or specific thing - that is a special person or a group of people or a thought
of a group or people  - and the card/tag can be used for someone else.

I made a card

I love it because I used up washi tape, and an old rub-on I purchased in the USA nearly 15 years ago!

I love the CAS - clean and simple - look but am not very good at it as I keep adding and
smudging and stuff. Even this card has an error on it if you look carefully.....

Four tapes, one rubon, one wooden chip and one die cut and done!
Love it!

It is pouring outside today so I tried to photograph this on the stairs
hampered by the help of Mr Weasley......

You have four weeks to enter this challenge......

Stamping Bella Stamps from Bizzy Bec's

 Hello Peeps.....

Keeping safe? Good. Hunker down there and craft up a frenzy! That's what I say! Not always what I do but definitely what I say should be happening!  We are well into Spring on our little island and atm we have no COVID19 with us here. They are talking about bubbles and opening up borders soon so who is to say what is going to come but today we are safe and able to live a pretty normal life.

Some of you don't know that I very strangely and madly took on another on-line Uni course - Diploma of Dementia - and am currently knee deep in my first two units. Stretching my brain but also my time: it is making me even more untidy with my punctuality and fitting stuff in........

Still, maybe by the time I leave this place I will have managed to have organized myself so that I am always on time and completely reliable! Pigs of course might also be flying in the skies above.......

Today I am showing you a card I made for Bizzy Bec's DT

(I am a farm girl at heart)

September Challenge

Always Anything Goes

I used w/c paper to stamp on and then after colouring up the images, I
fussy cut them out and put them to white card on dimensionals
I layered up the card before putting it on the blank

The stamp sets are from Stamping Bella

Stamping Bella - the Oddball Collection - Farm Animals Set eb969
Stamping Bella  - Sentiment Set - Down on the Farm eb948
Watercolour Card Stock
W/C pencils or pens

My background was made using Jane Davenport paints - the ladybug dotters
Also the w/c I painted with came from these
If you "dot" them onto glass and spray them with water, you can then use them as paint as well
with a paint brush - I have all the dotters but not all of them are in this photo.

I used some of white and black pens also to highlight
You could use any w/c medium you have or use the inks and water as well
or your Copic pens or Zigmarkers
Any medium would work to colour up these colourful characters.

You have to the end of September to enter Bec's challenge.
There is always a prize on offer
