Need for a Thank You Card or Two

I need to send out a few thank you cards and so I made a couple of small ones to slip in with some photographs as a Thank You to various people.

I used a Die-Namics die set by MFT called In Focus Floral Frames which I had gotten from Bizzy Becs a few weeks ago and they subsequently had been buried under a whole pile of papers until recently!

What a lovely find!

I die cut out all four in white card and mounted them onto various circles of scrap DSP floating on my desk. The cards are made from leftover white card and are all 4 x 4 cms, folded.

This size is useful as it can be a gift card or just a small card to tuck into something and I am planning on printing off some photo's and sending them to people with the card as a Thank You for attending my party last month.

I stamped each with the Thank You stamp from SU's new Nature's Harvest Set

In retrospect I should have dropped them down lower on the cards to allow more room for the circles. I had to trim several to make them fit better.

I added a bit of bling to each as well.

The gold one has a shimmer going on but is missed in these shots

All different but the same......

Bizzy Bec no longer has this die set on her site but if you tell her the name she can order it in for you asap - takes about four weeks to arrive.

August Challenge at Bizzy Bec's - finally got one done!

 Hello Peeps,

I have been so bad at getting anything done for Bizzy Bec's blog but finally have completed a piece for the August Challenge using a beautiful stamp set called

Stamped with StayzOn Black ink on
but you can use w/c pencils
and some Bling

I decided to paint these with my Uniqolour Water colour Brush Markers on some w/c paper which I had misted with some water after stamping the image.

Here is the colouring underway and the pen's spilling out on my desk
I used my Stamping machine (mine is from Stampin' Up) for the flower but then used blocks for the sentiment and that was a mistake - should have used the machine and got the two lines closer together

I mounted it on blue card and added to a card blank with some bling

You can colour this with any medium such as pencils, inks and paint. I liked the w/c effect I got here.

The Mum's can be stamped on the side of the card. from the top or across the bottom, or masked for a bunch effect. Nice to work with and clean clear stamps.

Bizzy Bec's August challenge runs for the whole month

Tags for Bizzy Bec's new Challenge

Hi Everyone.

Over at Bizzy Bec's is the start of the new October challenge

Everything Goes

There are some digi stamps on offer as a prize - from Bec herself!
They are gorgeous!

I repurposed two clothing tags for this challenge
Firstly I painted them white with heavy Gesso on both sides

I then scraped of some paint to take this shot so you can see the raw label underneath
because I am not very organised these days!
I repainted it.

I am also not very patient so I used the heat gun to dry them off and the paint
bubbled a bit but I like this so didn't panic!

Then I used a lot of black ink and some stamps from Dark Room Door
to grunge them up a bit - details on these below
Bec sells DRD stamps and stuff!

Where the bubbles were the ink stuck to the raise bits well and mde for more texture.
The ribbon came with the tags - I just replace it.

Great tags for the male presents
Some paper word chips too from my stash

White Gesso
Word chips from my stash

Repurposed clothing labels

Stamping Bella Stamps from Bizzy Bec's

 Hello Peeps.....

Keeping safe? Good. Hunker down there and craft up a frenzy! That's what I say! Not always what I do but definitely what I say should be happening!  We are well into Spring on our little island and atm we have no COVID19 with us here. They are talking about bubbles and opening up borders soon so who is to say what is going to come but today we are safe and able to live a pretty normal life.

Some of you don't know that I very strangely and madly took on another on-line Uni course - Diploma of Dementia - and am currently knee deep in my first two units. Stretching my brain but also my time: it is making me even more untidy with my punctuality and fitting stuff in........

Still, maybe by the time I leave this place I will have managed to have organized myself so that I am always on time and completely reliable! Pigs of course might also be flying in the skies above.......

Today I am showing you a card I made for Bizzy Bec's DT

(I am a farm girl at heart)

September Challenge

Always Anything Goes

I used w/c paper to stamp on and then after colouring up the images, I
fussy cut them out and put them to white card on dimensionals
I layered up the card before putting it on the blank

The stamp sets are from Stamping Bella

Stamping Bella - the Oddball Collection - Farm Animals Set eb969
Stamping Bella  - Sentiment Set - Down on the Farm eb948
Watercolour Card Stock
W/C pencils or pens

My background was made using Jane Davenport paints - the ladybug dotters
Also the w/c I painted with came from these
If you "dot" them onto glass and spray them with water, you can then use them as paint as well
with a paint brush - I have all the dotters but not all of them are in this photo.

I used some of white and black pens also to highlight
You could use any w/c medium you have or use the inks and water as well
or your Copic pens or Zigmarkers
Any medium would work to colour up these colourful characters.

You have to the end of September to enter Bec's challenge.
There is always a prize on offer

A Helping Hand

Hello Peeps - I have been a bit quiet lately but all is good. No-one is ill - just quiet!

However, I have a card due for Bizzy Bec's so back to my desk I went!

July Challenge -   Anything Goes

I have featured stamps and dies from

My Favorite Things

Why?

Bizzy Bec is now going to carry these on her website.

Back in the day when the Australian dollar had parity with the US dollar
and I was still doing a bit of relief teaching and so had some discretionary money
I used to occasionally purchase some of the MFT product direct from USA.

I loved their stuff - particularly their excellent dies known as Dienamics
I had a look at their store page and guess what - lots of the sets I have are still featured.

So I made one of those dreaded male cards....

My Favorite Things (Dienamics Dies)

Using the sets Let's Tool Around

The background is from my stash
Inks are from Tim Holtz and Ranger
Tools painted with watercolours

There is a bit of layering with handles and such on the tools

I like the rustic look of it

My painting does not bear close inspection though!

We have had lots of rain lately but there have also been some lovely blue winter days
My constant companion supervising me photographing the garden....

Bizzy Bec's June challenge

Hello Peeps!

Hope you are all doing OK with the strife this world is in and are hunkered
down and in a crafty place!

It is the beginning of the month and so I have a new project made for

Anything Goes

Today I have made some tags
3 tags from one sheet of A4 thick Whisper White card

I began by using some stencils, sponges and TH Distress Inks
I have a few colours out but ended up using only three major ones
Wild Honey, Abandoned Coral, Broken China and a bit of Shabby Shutters (green)

My stencils are from mys stencil pile - a growing pile - and are varied
but any flower stencils would do and I used a honeycomb one as well
-or wire fence

My major theme was around Bees after all

I worked in three areas and then decided where the cuts were to be
but you could rule up lightly if you wanted to be precise

I over stamped the stencilling with black ink and used two
Dark Room Door stamp sets (see below for details)
However, the sentiments and bees came from the set you can see in the photo

I selected ribbons after rounding the top corners of the tags and piercing them
Three ribbons used in each and I stitched and tied them in
That took the longest time to do with my wonky hands!

It was night by the time I had finished so I used a flash to take the one below this to see if the colours changed at all and they did a bit!

A bit cleaner and more clarity perhaps.....

This is what I used......

Darkroom Door DDTS Buzzing Bees
Darkroom Door DDRS163 Fine Flowers
Stencils - various from stash
Ribbon from my stash

If you wanted to improve thisyou could perhaps emboss with a black EP
the flowers and sentiment and stamp and fussycut the bee; then colour the bee in as well
before attaching it on top of the original stamped bee.

Thee are always prizes at Bizzy Becs

Bizzy Bec's May Challenge

As always at Bizzy Bec's there is a monthly challenge

Anything Goes

If you win you get a choice of

5 Digital Images

Kindly donated from Bizzy Becs Online Store-

with a fabulous range of Various Stamps, Dies and Embellishments for all your crafty needs and wants.

I hope you are still coping with endless time to craft and being locked in!
We can go for a walk as long as we socially distance
The other day I went for a wander around the bay to the bridge over the creek that runs into our bay
Geilston Creek runs into what is now known as Geilston Bay

We are in Autumn and that day was beautifully autumnal
The Yacht Club is featured in the middle ground with kunanyi/Mt Wellington in the backgound

Colonel Geils was a Governor of Tasmania at some point and had an estate here so of course it is named for him but the first peoples had another name for it, now lost in time.

Whatever the name it is a beautiful spot -
yesterday morning there we a pod of dolphins playing in this bay.

Back to Bizzy Bec's Challenge

i went straight to my Dark Room Door Stamps and got one of the tins out
Almost an antique stamp!
I had seen a similar card made using one of the other vintage car sets DRD has
and this clever use of paint and ink over at the DRD f/b page
- so I sort of cased it!

I had a scrap of this DP left (I think it is an old SU) and I used a roller
and white acrylic paint to create a space to stamp into with black ink

You can see how well the black looks stamped onto the dry white paint
A good way to use up bright DP

The sentiment comes from the same set
I added the sequins for a bit of male bling!

I used a Pacific Blue card mount behind the DP
I like the contrast here.

A simple card but quite effective for a male - or a female.

Bizzy Bec has lots of goodies to purchase and she will order in stuff from USA and other places
for you at reasonable prices (especially now with postage costs).
In addition there is a prize for the monthly winner of 5 digital images created by Bec herself.
You can see them on her website

Being a bit Arty for Bizzy Bec

Hello Peeps

I hope you are all virus free and hunkered down in the craft space creating up a storm. I am trying to get back into the swing of things after being denied access for so long but it is taking longer than I thought for my mojo to return!

However, I did some painting and made a card for

Recently I got some watercolour pen's from an Australian Company call Uniquely Creative, and I decided to see if they could be used for more than just colouring in small images of flowers and such. I wanted to paint a w/c scene and I used a photo taken by my friend Glenda of a local beach.

I discovered that they are not good for this type of freehand drawing - or probably, they are not good for me.

I taped down the w/c paper and wet it before starting to apply the pens but it ran and they did not work nicely together at all for colour. I think if I have applied them to a pallette first I might have achieved something more appealing but I did get a small painting and so used it to create a card.

I did this by first stamping over the painting with my Darkroom Door Frame Stamp - Splattered.
I used Versafine Black ink for this and had to add black pen in places as it did not take totally.
I mounted it onto a green card and then added a strip of embossed Kraft.
Behind it I put a bright blue piece of card (SU Pacific Point) on which I had stamped using the
Sentiment Stamp - Make Art and the V/mark ink.
As usual my mounting is not straight!

A bit of fun

The challenge is as always - 'Anything Goes'

The winner of the challenge will receive:

5 Digital Stamps of your choice

Kindly donated from Bizzy Becs Online Store- a fabulous range of Various Stamps, Dies and Embellishments for all your crafty needs, wants. and must haves!

While my w/c painting is a bit shite, I enjoyed just playing and then putting this together.

You have a month to play along - over Easter!
With all this Social Distancing we are doing, you need something to entertain yourself
apart from eating all that chocolate

Bizzy Bec's March Challenge

Hello Peeps

I have made a card for this monthly challenge at Bizzy Bec's, which is usually "Anything Goes"!

While laying on my couch last week I got a parcel from Bizzy Bec's place, with my latest order and in it were two stencils from Taylored Expressions. I had just seen the Exotic Leaves being used on Pinterest somewhere, and had been intrigued by the way it was used - so I stole the idea (or C'ased it).

Unfortunately I cannot find it again and so cannot attribute the original artist. If it is you please let me know. I used it because I could continue to lay on the couch and with minimum effort make this card with the stash I had available on the side table!

I used the following items:

Tim Holtz Inks - three greens
Sponges
Scraps from my working desk
SU card - Poppy Parade and poppy die cut
Sentiment from SU

Can you see the complete leaf on the top right side?
Once I had created the background on Whisper White card, using all three inks,
starting with the lightest and randomly sponging through the stencil,
I repeated this using just one ink - the brightest green - on just that one leaf (twice).
Then I fussy cut out the two leaves.

The circle was scrap
The sparkly square was a leftover from another project last year
The red flowers were from a pack of die cuts from SU

I just layered them up with dimensionals as it suited me.

Bizzy Bec's Challenge is open all March

The winner of the challenge will receive:

5 Digital Stamps of your choice

Kindly donated from Bizzy Becs Online Store- a fabulous range of Various Stamps, Dies and Embellishments for all your crafty needs, wants. and must haves!

A Little Birdie......for Bizzy Bec's new challenge

Hello Peeps - welcome to February!

So glad to see you all....
I was sorting out my stamps the other day
(as one does when nothing else will come that is creative) and found
I have a lot of Dark Room Door Stamps; but they are either older ones or
random ones from their $50 packs.

I found I had three repeat stamps (unused)

You are One in a Melon - sentiment and image
a book pile from Book Worm set
A sentiment regarding women and teabags.......

(Happy to pass them on for the cost of postage plus $5Aust each -
just email me suhoganatgmaildotcom with address and Paypal access)

I have now stamped onto a cover sheet and inserted it into the box so
I can see at a glance what is there....

I decided to use the frame stamp for a card

for Bizzy Bec's latest challenge
which is always

"Anything Goes"

I wanted to block in some colour, so I stamped the frames onto white card and
then used the same ink to stamp onto a post-it note.

I carefully cut out the squares by hand
This gadget fits over my middle finger and makes cutting easy

Once I removed the pieces, I placed it over my stamped image
Being a post-it, it stayed in place but I did carefully hold it which working next

Using my applicator, I rubbed some Oxide ink in graduation colours onto the shapes

Then I stamped some images I have from the set

I don't have this set - just some pieces from it

I found some old stash (remember this?) and matched it with another TH ink pad
Then I didn't take another photo until I had completed the card
I realized I needed the orange stuff to hide a mistake - can you see it?

An easy card to send to a friend when you just want to say hello
or when you are concerned/happy/inquisitive......

I used my newly acquired Copic white ink to whiten up the eggs and the birds eye

You can see the error a bit better here......upside down acrobatic bird.......

I wrote in this blog that I had some old DRD sets in tins
and a comment was made about the tins....

Here they are.

So - I used the following to complete this card

ripe persimmon, fossilized amber, wild honey, crushed olive

Card by Stampin' Up
Other - from my stash

Don’t forget to play along in our current challenge.
The theme is always 'Anything Goes'
and you could win five digis of your choice.

Hello Peeps......
Today is the day I present again for Bizzy Bec's Blog

Who doesn't love Darkroom Door?

I have some DRD stamps that are sooooo old they are presented in tins!
BUT I also have some newer ones and intend to get newer ones again in the next month or so
I love their Quote Stamps - but I love most of their stamps, so.....
