The Little Mermaid and me....

Hello Peeps - another card today for the June challenge at Unstampabelles, where the main theme is

MAGIC

and the TWIST is to

relate your work to a Disney film!

I used the cartoon film The Little Mermaid

I used a scrap piece left over from playing with Brusho's for my base

The bubble die is from Uniquely Creative (an Australian firm)

Discover is from Tim Holtz and Sizzix - words

The mermaid's tail and shells are from Jane Davenport
(another Australia company)

Jane also is a multi media artist and I try and follow some of her work
I have her faces book and some of her paints and inks
She is amazing and very generous.

I added a strip of washi tape to form the sea

The papers were nearly all offcuts and left overs today
I didn't cut into anything new!

I did add glitter glue to the tail and to the shells
but its a bit hard to pickup

Who knows - perhaps she might just emerge like magic from a beach near you!
We can now go to beaches and as long as we are socially distancing, we can all be there together!

The pristine Friendly Beaches, located on the Freycinet Peninsula, thanks to Glenn Manning.
You can also follow Glenn via instagram

(Glen must have been there during COVID_19)
This is on the North East Coast of Tasmania
- did you know the whiter the sand, the older it is?
This sand must be thousand of years old.....

Week 2 of Challenge#101 at Unstampabelles

Hello Peeps!

Yes, all lives matter.....
including Black Lives

Let's just be nice to one another and recognize that we all bleed red blood
regardless of the colour of our skin

Please respect each other and stay safe.

Today I am sharing a tag I made for the second week of Challenge #101

 The primary theme is

MAGIC

and the TWIST is relate your piece to a Walt Disney Film

My tag is related to the film

Summer Magic!

Summer Magic - Wikipedia

When I was a child, Sunday night was Disney night on the television
I would pray for Fantasy Night every Sunday night

Of course, that only happened every now and then but
the wonderful Hayley Mills was a second favorite!

The tag is a mix of elements
The girl comes from a freebie sheet I won  from New Zealand
and  fussy cut from a G & T Design (NZ) 2017 Paper-Arts

The background is from the base of my pizza box that I use to spray ink around
The word 'peace' was sprayed blue and so it is in the background
Some washi tape - gold - and die cuts

The wings are from a chocolate I had a Christmas
The love tag is a TH tag
The flowers are from the stash

It is just meant to be a bit of fantasy

I did have fun creating this

A summer's day in the garden.....

Bizzy Bec's June challenge

Hello Peeps!

Hope you are all doing OK with the strife this world is in and are hunkered
down and in a crafty place!

It is the beginning of the month and so I have a new project made for

Anything Goes

Today I have made some tags
3 tags from one sheet of A4 thick Whisper White card

I began by using some stencils, sponges and TH Distress Inks
I have a few colours out but ended up using only three major ones
Wild Honey, Abandoned Coral, Broken China and a bit of Shabby Shutters (green)

My stencils are from mys stencil pile - a growing pile - and are varied
but any flower stencils would do and I used a honeycomb one as well
-or wire fence

My major theme was around Bees after all

I worked in three areas and then decided where the cuts were to be
but you could rule up lightly if you wanted to be precise

I over stamped the stencilling with black ink and used two
Dark Room Door stamp sets (see below for details)
However, the sentiments and bees came from the set you can see in the photo

I selected ribbons after rounding the top corners of the tags and piercing them
Three ribbons used in each and I stitched and tied them in
That took the longest time to do with my wonky hands!

It was night by the time I had finished so I used a flash to take the one below this to see if the colours changed at all and they did a bit!

A bit cleaner and more clarity perhaps.....

This is what I used......

Darkroom Door DDTS Buzzing Bees
Darkroom Door DDRS163 Fine Flowers
Stencils - various from stash
Ribbon from my stash

If you wanted to improve thisyou could perhaps emboss with a black EP
the flowers and sentiment and stamp and fussycut the bee; then colour the bee in as well
before attaching it on top of the original stamped bee.

Thee are always prizes at Bizzy Becs

Magic theme for Unstampabelles

Over at Unstampabelles this month - June, yeah, it's June - the newest challenge is to create something with the theme of

MAGIC
with the TWIST of applying a Disney Film theme

I took my inspiration from the Jules Verne classic science fiction book
that Disney turned into a film in 1954

The Japanese version of the Nautilus at their theme park is amazing

My card (yes, a card again) is a sea based card......
because I find the sea quite magical!

I started by taping a piece of waste card with some Brusho's splattered onto it
onto my glass plate and then applying some texture paste through a stencil of splashes!

I mixed a few drops of RH Weathered Wood ink into the paste to create a pale blue paste

I then added some yellow ink into the paste and created the school of fishes

Then I die cut some underwater plants from some glitter paper scraps
I had only three colours and one was white,
so I sprayed that with various sprays to colour it up appropriately

Then I mounted it on blue card and a white card base.
I outlined the fishes and made one into Nemo.......that is another WD Film.....

Some TH words made the sentiment

The paste up close with the die cuts

I hope you like the idea....

You have the month of June to come up with a suitable piece for this challenge

See you at Unstampabelles!

Final Week for the 100th Challenge at Unstampabelles

Hello Peeps!

Have you had a busy week? I have - it just sort crept up on me and then I was in the middle of a busy time dealing with a million things. Funny thing is I did craft too in this time - it seems the busier one becomes, the more time one has to create!

I do hope you are all well - both in body and spirit. This virus has us all in its thrall but we will overcome it eventually.  We are lucky in that we can now venture out a bit and see friends and family.

The Unstampabelles blog is running it's 100th challenge
This is the last week in May for it

If you had intended entering, now is the time.

I made another card
The photo is taken at night with the lamp light rather than a flash
so it looks off-white but rest assured I used Whisper White card

The die set from SU called Butterfly Beauty came in handy for this
The DP is out-of-date paper mounted on blue card and then a white folded card.

I cut two different die cuts and then mounted one on the other

The simple layout created a pretty card.

We have been trying to do some general maintenance
- seven steps to be replaced

Hubby eventually has acceded that he cannot do it so we can get someone in

A funny thing - I made another card for this challenge
Then became aware that it was a blue and white TWIST!

Here is the card

Yes, it is autumn here.

Had to make another in a hurry!

Let me see what you can make over at Unstampabelles.

Walk on the Wild Side

Hello Peeps

Just a quick post for Bizzy Bec's Store Blog
for her May challenge

Anything Goes!

My card this month is featuring Dark Room Door again.

My card  is a little wacky - OK wackier than ususal......

I went back to the Darkroom Door part of my collection
and had a bit of a play

Firstly I cut a circle using one of the bigger circle dies and used this as a stencil. I  laid it over my card while between the two I slid in the small stencil from DD (see below for details)

The I got out my Brusho's and others that are similar.
I lightly sprayed some water to begin with  and then
sprinkled various paints onto the wet surface.

I did lay another piece of w/c card over this and take another impression for later use
as well as rolling over some paper towel to dry it off a bit more before beginning work.

Then  I ran a fine line black pen around the edge of my circle
before undoing all the layers to revel the take.
It was a bit messier than I expected but I made do with it.

I took the sentiment and randomly added ink using my w/c markers to the stamp.
When I assumed it was pretty well covered, I huffed on it
and then held my breath while I stamped it.
I wanted to mimic the mess in the circle a bit.

After fussy cutting out my girl, I added her on dimensionals.

The gold banner was in my stash

Of course I had to have a supervisor when I was trying to get a good photo of it in the sunshine

Details:
Circle die was from an early Sizzix set
The circle was decorated using a Small Stencil - DDSS036 Grunge Borders

The sentiment comes from the set
This was coloured with water markers
(I used SU markers but anything will do)

My girl was fussy cut from a G & T Design (NZ) 2017 Paper-Arts
The gold banner is from my stash
All card is from SU

I walked today - not too wild where I went, on the path outside the house around the waterfront.

Wings and/or Wind for Unstampabelles!

Hello Peeps

Hope you are all travelling reasonable well in the Pandemic and keeping safe.
It is certainly cutting a swathe through the world.
I have discovered worrying about people makes you very tired.
What have you discovered in this time?

Meanwhile it's week 3 over at Unstampabelles and I have made another card
to get some people inspired to enter - hopefully that includes YOU!

This is the 100th Challenge for

They have been in operation for over 11 years continuously.

There are extra prizes available for Entrants this month as a result.

The challenge is

Wind and/or Wings
TWIST : must be predominantly White and Blue?

Oooops - mine is a white card with a blue background
and gold elements......I think it just fits the TWIST

What do you think?

I used my Tim Holts elements to create a sentiment
I looked up quotes using Google and then found bits I could use
and just hand wrote the rest.

They were a little quiet so I went over them again with the black pen
and now I think they are a bit too big

I started by creating an early morning sky with TH inks and sponges

I used Whisper White card for this and my sponges

Then it was a simple matter to add a small gold feather die and some sequins
s well as my quote

I tried to line them up with a ruler
but of course they don't look even now......

so, A feather drifting in the breeze represents both wings and wind........

What can you come up with?

Backgrounds for A Place to Start

Hello Peeps!

Hope you are all keeping well!
If you are stir crazy from being isolated - I feel for you
I can go out for a walk and I still feel it!

We are currently knee deep in autumn and the weather is being autumnal, of course
While our native trees are mostly not ones that loose their leaves, some of the first white settlers
did bring trees from the northern hemisphere and they do shed.

This is at a winery in the North East of the state.
I have sat at that bench and consumed a tasting plate of local goodies with
some tasting of champagne style wines, admittedly about two years ago now......
Some bottles were purchased for home as a result!

photo taken by Murray's Day Out
http://www.murraysdayout.com.au/

Anyway - today's card was made for the Design Team at

where the challenge in May is to
create your own background (no Designer Papers)

I created my background by pressing onto the card with the small Tim Holtz ink pads
in a random pattern.
The colour palette was an influence from the weather around me I think.

I then stamped and w/c painted up this Mo's Pencil girl
before fussy cutting her out

The background is very loud but I think she just gets away with it

The sentiment is a stamp that I have in my stash but no idea where it comes from
although I found it in the box with the Darkroom Door stamps.
I am pretty sure it is not one of their's though....

This is my first attempt where I was adding some marks to it
Hated the outcome and just pulled the girl off and
did new background.

Bizzy Bec's May Challenge

As always at Bizzy Bec's there is a monthly challenge

Anything Goes

If you win you get a choice of

5 Digital Images

Kindly donated from Bizzy Becs Online Store-

with a fabulous range of Various Stamps, Dies and Embellishments for all your crafty needs and wants.

I hope you are still coping with endless time to craft and being locked in!
We can go for a walk as long as we socially distance
The other day I went for a wander around the bay to the bridge over the creek that runs into our bay
Geilston Creek runs into what is now known as Geilston Bay

We are in Autumn and that day was beautifully autumnal
The Yacht Club is featured in the middle ground with kunanyi/Mt Wellington in the backgound

Colonel Geils was a Governor of Tasmania at some point and had an estate here so of course it is named for him but the first peoples had another name for it, now lost in time.

Whatever the name it is a beautiful spot -
yesterday morning there we a pod of dolphins playing in this bay.

Back to Bizzy Bec's Challenge

i went straight to my Dark Room Door Stamps and got one of the tins out
Almost an antique stamp!
I had seen a similar card made using one of the other vintage car sets DRD has
and this clever use of paint and ink over at the DRD f/b page
- so I sort of cased it!

I had a scrap of this DP left (I think it is an old SU) and I used a roller
and white acrylic paint to create a space to stamp into with black ink

You can see how well the black looks stamped onto the dry white paint
A good way to use up bright DP

The sentiment comes from the same set
I added the sequins for a bit of male bling!

I used a Pacific Blue card mount behind the DP
I like the contrast here.

A simple card but quite effective for a male - or a female.

Bizzy Bec has lots of goodies to purchase and she will order in stuff from USA and other places
for you at reasonable prices (especially now with postage costs).
In addition there is a prize for the monthly winner of 5 digital images created by Bec herself.
You can see them on her website
